Architect Allan Mulcahy has incorporated dominant mono-pitch roofs and spine brick walls in the design of this single storey two bedroom dwelling. Built in a village conservation area dominated by red brick and pantiles the detail purposely relates to this village vernacular.
Designed to retain prominent damson trees, the house has a stepped plan of three bays. This makes the most of garden views and access from different rooms whilst reducing neighbourly overlooking. Its form is orientated to exploit the benefits of the winter sun through these full height glazed bays.
Internally the design is restrained, functional and the accommodation is well organised and the circulation minimised making this an intimate house with light and aspect.
