2013 CPD Programme

For the second time the RIBA has developed a national programme of CPD. There are ten different seminars covering subjects in all ten RIBA Core Curriculum areas. They are repeated in 13 different venues across England and Wales. All are welcome and you can attend any of the seminars throughout the year at any of the venues and pay as you book.

In the East Midlands events will take place in Nottingham and will run on Wednesday afternoons from 2 - 4.30pm, unless otherwise stated.

The seminars are cheaper to purchase with a CPD Club Membership, which entitles you to attend all ten seminars throughout the year and can bring the cost down to as little as £35 per event.

Context: Understanding historic buildings - refurbishment and building performance

25 September 2013 - Nottingham
Much refurbishment practice is predicted on modelled assumptions of building performance, but how appropriate are these assumptions with regard to older, solid wall properties that make up much of our historic building stock? Using measured data from a variety of historic building refurbishment projects, this seminar will look at performance both before and after refurbishment as a means to judge both the risks and opportunities associated with retrofitting older buildings to improve their energy efficiency.
