Nottingham Contemporary
20 - 23 August 2010
Fifty buildings, 50 years of modern architecture in the East Midlands launched over an August weekend at Nottingham Contemporary.
Our exciting touring exhibition resoundingly demonstrated that modern architecture 'is alive and well and living in the East Midlands'.
Declaring the Fifty Buildings, 50 Years exhibition officially open, Paul Davis, Vice President of the RIBA Trust, added: 'It is brilliantly inventive and represents real outreach, because the 50 buildings selected are all publicly accessible.
A huge amount of energy and thought has gone into putting this exhibition together It is a wonderful endeavor promoting architectural excellence to the general public.'
Winning a national RIBA award itself this year, as well as featuring as one of the fifty buildings included, Nottingham Contemporary was a highly appropriate launch venue for the exhibition.
