Defining a strategy for procurement with a look at processes and documents for tender, supply chain cost management, building finance agreements and guaranteed maximum prices.

This seminar will look in depth at aspects of procurement and tender documents that impact on advising clients and delivering projects. Adequate time will be allowed for questions and discussion.

The content of the seminar will include:

• Constructing Excellence, OGC and other Best Practice Guidance Notes on Procurement and Procurement Strategy
• Defining the client's business and value drivers
• Categorizing projects by risk and spend
• Involving key stakeholders and challenge the stated need using tools such as the Design Quality Indicator, Value Management, etc
• One stage / two stage tendering and tender options including "quality" questions and interview techniques
• Cost v quality
• Direct and subcontract appointments and the supply chain
• Frameworks, Partnering and Collaborative Working, Design and Build
• Target costs and Building Finance Agreements - PFI, etc

  The seminar gives you three hours of general awareness and detailed knowledge CPD under the 'Managing Projects – Procurement and Building Contracts/Building Cost Management' sections of the RIBA Core Curriculum.
