Promoting exellence

RIBA London promotes excellence in the profession and the value of good design through a diverse body of projects that celebrates achievements, campaigns for quality, develops skills, offers training, furthers education and creates opportunities for those in the capital.

The region engages with a wide variety of partners; including policy makers, decision makers, delivery bodies, community agencies and other cross-professional institutes to deliver its work, which in 2010 will include:

Structure

RIBA London is run and administered by a regional team of five based at Portland Place and is governed by the RIBA London Council. The council is made up of: Chair, Treasurer, 8 elected London regional representatives and 10 RIBA London branch chairs. The Council meets four times a year to advise on and approve such things as the regional budget.

The RIBA London Council is supported by a number of sub committees or groups, led by Vice-chairs, with distinct areas of expertise and focus. Their function is to guide projects and campaigns and respond to public affairs issues. Their work is supported by dedicated forums who in turn advise and offer ideas for regional development.
