The new footbridge and suspended walkway running beneath the bridge together provide a route for pedestrians and cyclists, allowing them to connect safely across this busy East End neighbourhood.

The zig-zagging form allows the necessary height for river traffic to pass under the bridge. The simple steel structure is clad in an undulating series of vertical timbers that provide a secure barrier, but also blur the distinction between towpath and bridge to create a new place that intimately engages with its riverside setting.
