This schools project breaks down the size of an enormous and struggling comprehensive school. It is arranged into three separate schools of around 450 pupils and a sixth form college, which share the resources of a central administration, arts, music and sports centres. There is also a separate special needs section whose design has a calming influence on behaviour.

The construction - brickwork and pre-cast concrete walkway covers, with simple, elegant glazed infill panels - is hard-wearing and the elevations are pleasingly consistent, but also suitably varied.
