This 583-bed hotel occupies a tight urban site and reinstates the ancient street pattern of its part of the City. A two-storey colonnade forms a covered arrival and drop-off area that allows visitors to see directly into the central court of the building; the seven-storey stone-clad hotel block is arranged around this courtyard. Perched above this block is the zinc-clad 'sky lounge'. The hotel's carefully considered approach to sustainability achieves a 40% improvement on the usual standards for hotels.
