The block consists of a number of different late Victorian buildings. A programme of low-cost fabric and servicing upgrades has gradually been implemented over ten years. New architectural interventions appropriate to the user - cafes, offices, galleries, clubs and a hotel – include a shipping container used as a reception and a corten extension rising out of the top of a Victorian pub.
The result is a quirky alternative to the traditional work environment, further developed by the fit-outs carried out by the various architects working under the stewardship of AHMM.
