Between 2009 - 2011, RIBA London co-ordinated a dedicated education programme to help embed design learning and appreciation of architecture in London.
Working in partnership with other learning providers we aimed to enhance young people's understanding of the built environment through creative activities.
Where possible the programme provided:
- workshops for students in both primary and secondary schools
- bespoke formal and informal learning opportunities
- support for teachers and architects
For example in 2011 RIBA London delivered 'Maths through Architecture' as part of RIBA's Architects in Residence scheme.
Working with Vittoria Primary School in Islington, the maths curriculum was brought to life as pupils explored shape, pattern and scale.
