Regent Street Windows Project 2011

HUT with Aquascutum

100 Regent Street, London

'Based upon a series of material layers that in both architecture and clothing act as a water shield (“aqua scutum” in Latin). These overlapping layers, constructed from building materials occupy the window spaces; creating voids within which the current Aquascutum collections are displayed.'

HUT’s installation for Aquascutum is inspired by notions of protection and all that the city and the weather can throw. It uses materials that are used both in building and clothing manufacture to form shelters and barriers to the elements.

These folded and overlapping materials occupy the windows and are made up of different types of metal, glass, timber, insulation and rubber sheet. Between these forms are display spaces within which Aquascutum product for Summer 2011 is showcased.
