Thomas Store, Senior Sustainable Business Consultant from Global Action Plan will give an introduction into the BREEAM schemes, how they work, the assessment process and a summary of practical issues that have arisen from actual assessments including renewable and low carbon technology issues, construction management issues, and easy vs. hard credit wins. Part of any BREEAM assessment involves rating the materials used in main building elements of the development in terms of its environmental sustainability. The seminar will go into some detail on which building elements are included, how they are assessed and give examples of materials that perform well in this specification and introduce resources that help specify sustainable materials.
