With a population of approximately 17 million, São Paulo is one of the world’s largest and fastest growing cities. It is both the financial powerhouse of South America (accounting for nearly one third of Brazil's entire gross domestic product) and one of its leading cultural hubs.
As ever more people and capital pour into this dynamic city, how is it embracing change? What are the characteristics of this shift and what role is design playing in defining the city's global role? Discussion with leading and up-and-coming practices MMBB and ARKIZ produced in collaboration with the Embassy of Brazil in London.
