04 November 2008
1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Venue:
Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead, Tyne and Wear
Description:
In Scandinavia wood has long been recognised as the only truly sustainable building material. We aim to examine its place in modern building design and the types of products that are available for different needs. We will discuss the influences of the environment upon wood and methods of protection and maintenance. The members will leave with a greater understanding of developments in exterior protection, and options for maintaining the beauty and colour of this remarkable building material.
Speakers:
Mr Peter Jones: Technical Manager for Jotun Paints UK and based at the Scunthorpe Head Office, Peter hails from the North East. His 20 years of experience in Jotun has taken him from Protective Coatings to Marine Paints before joining the Decorative Division to head up the Technical Support Services. His knowledge of industrial coatings is exceptional, and his understanding of applications is second to none.
Mr Richard Gledhill: Based in Yorkshire, Richard covers the North Eastern area in his capacity as Technical Sales Advisor. Prior to joining Jotun 8 years ago he worked within several major paint companies, including Akzo Nobel and ICI. His involvement in local projects such as the BALTIC, the Byker Wall and Castle Howard maintenance programmes will give an indication of the breadth of his experience.
Both speakers are engaging and witty and will welcome interaction throughout the afternoon. We are sure you will find them informative and interesting. Sue Rowell from the Marketing Department will be present to assist the speakers and ensure members completely enjoy their afternoon as guests of Jotun.
