RIBA Stirling Prize 2012 fringe activity

RIBA North West, in association with the Manchester Society of Architects, Manchester Central, MediaCity UK and the University of Salford have put together a range of fringe activities to accompany the announcement of the winner of the RIBA Stirling Prize 2012 in Manchester on the 13 October. 

Wednesday 10 October
University of Salford Open Lecture with Martin Simpson, Arup
Venue: University of Salford, MediaCity UK, Salford Quays M50 2HE

Architruck at MediaCity UK

Saturday 13 October
Architruck at Albert Square
Venue: Albert Square, next to Manchester Town Hall M1 5DE
10am - 6pm
Why not come along and make use of the 'Ask an Architect' service the RIBA has provided for the day, great if you are thinking of having any work done to your home.
MSA Architectural Bus Tour
Meeting Point: Albert Square, next to Manchester Town Hall M1 6DE
Join Phil Griffin from 1pm for a bus tour celebrating the sites of Manchester.

Tour of Manchester Central

The architect behind Manchester Central, Roger Stephenson MBE, will be giving a tour of the venue for this year's announcement of the RIBA Stirling Prize winner.

'Continuity and Development: the work of Hodder + Partners'
Venue: RIBA Hub, CUBE, 113 - 115 Portland Street, Manchester M1 6DW
RIBA President-Elect, Stephen Hodder, will be launching this exhibition at the RIBA Hub which looks at the work of Hodder + Partners from 2pm.

MSA Architectural Walking Tour
Meeting Point: National Football Museum, Urbis, Manchester M4 3BG
Get up close and personal with the architecture of Manchester with this walking tour, led by Phil Griffin.

The winner of the RIBA Stirling Prize 2012 will be announced at a special dinner on Saturday 13 October at Manchester Central.
