RIBA North West is pleased to bring Robert Greenwood of Snøhetta to the region for the first in the 'Pushing Boundaries' series.

Robert is a Partner and Director at the practice and received his BA in Architecture from the University of Liverpool.

Snøhetta was founded in Oslo in 1989 and is an award-winning international architecture, landscape architecture and interior design firm. After winning the commission to design the National September 11 Memorial Museum Pavilion, Snøhetta established an architectural firm in New York City.

Some of the projects Snøhetta has worked on include:

  • National Opera and Ballet, Oslo
  • The Norwegian Wild Reindeer Centre Pavilion, Dovre, Norway
  • King Abdulaziz Centre for World Culture, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia
  • Alexandria Library, Egypt.

Snøhetta has also been appointed to design the Maggie's Centre in Aberdeen.

In 2004 the company received the Aga Khan Award for Architecture and in 2009 it was honoured with the Mies van der Rohe Award. It has also received the World Architecture Award for best cultural building twice.
