RIBA North West is delighted to bring David Zahle of BIG to the region to take part in the 'Pushing Boundaries' series.
Celebrating innovation and creativity in the fields of architecture and design, the Pushing Boundaries series aims to bring to the North West individuals who are helping to shape the future of architecture and the world around us.
BIG is a Copenhagen and New York-based group of architects, designers, builders and thinkers operating within the fields of architecture, urbanism, research and development.
David is a Partner with BIG, joining them to work on the VM Houses in Copenahgen in 2002. The scheme received a Mies van der Rohe Special Mention in 2007. He also worked on the Stavanger Concert Hall which was awarded the Golden Lion at the Venince Biennale in 2004 for the world’s best concert house.
David is currently part of the team working on the innovative Amagerforbrænding; Copenhagen’s new Waste-to-Energy Plant with an innovative roof doubling as a ski slope.
