Description:
Liverpool, once described as “the centre of the creative universe”, then elected European Capital of Culture 2008, is well known for its artistic endeavours, least of all its outstanding historical architecture. From St George’s Hall to the Liver Building, this city has always generated architecture that has attracted visitors from all over the world. The skyline of Liverpool has changed dramatically in recent times, and a rich architectural heritage now sits amongst a plethora of interesting and challenging new construction.
We will start our expedition with a comprehensive introduction on the City, its architectural past and recent developments. Then, our tour will allow you to discover many important buildings including some of the 2008 Liverpool Architectural Society Design Awards winners such as the Vanilla Factory, Alma de Cuba or the Arena and Convention Centre. You will also walk to the Albert Dock area, past the Cunard Building, Temple Square, the Town Hall amongst many others…
