04 October 2011
2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Venue:
Sarum College, Salisbury
Description:
Where do you place yourself in the whole green agenda? Were you one of the lucky ones - educated in passive/energy efficient building design? Or like most of us, did you miss out and are self taught? Have you learned enough, what tools do you use and how much do you trust them? Can you be pushed a bit further/faster? Is professional liability a barrier in your quest for sustainable solutions?
The aim of the speaker at this seminar is to share some pathways to better solutions.
-
Are you 'green' or 'violet'? What are green and violet materials?
-
Low carbon design, low carbon building, low carbon materials: how far will you go and how far have you got so far?
-
GreenSpec Green: how do we define Green?
-
BRE Green (Guide to Specification): how do BRE define Green? Why does it not feel Green?
-
GreenSpec Studio: free online Elemental Design and Elemental Specification assembly tool.
-
Eco-refurbishment: how does all of this apply? And a few potholes to avoid.
The tailored contents of this seminar were developed by members of the RIBA Wiltshire branch and the event is run by your regional office.
