This seminar will review the various methods available for dispute resolution and how they interrelate.

It will highlight the dispute resolution options in RIBA appointment documents and JCT Contracts, as well as issues to consider when deciding which options to select.

Advice will be given as to how insurers deal with claims against architects and how architects can best assist in the process.

The speaker will review the issues in cases in which he has been involved and the lessons to be learned regarding architectural practice and contract administration. Common topics for debate at the seminar will be design by others, record keeping, payment issues and what should happen at completion and subsequently.
