David Taylor – Diploma Prize at Kent School of
The judges were impressed with David’s project, which
was the design of a building for the registration of births, marriages and deaths at Warden Point on the Isle of Sheppey. Warden Point is on the edge of a 45-metre
high cliff and is falling into the sea at a rate of 1.6
metres per year. Says David: ‘the people of Warden
Point are losing their history on a yearly basis. The
project attempts to archive the villagers’ precious life
moments and highlight the precarious nature of the land on which they live’.
