24 November 2009
9:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Venue:
Shaw House, Newbury
Description:
Climate change is already affecting most people's lives and for many thousands it is rapidly becoming a matter of life and death.
What we do now is the key to how soon and for how many the consequences will be that serious. The carbon footprint of buildings is amongst the more important things that need to change, and existing buildings account for some 80% of the built environment. So, as Conservation Architects, we have a crucial role to play.
It is hard to think of abandoning the principles and experience we have acquired with such dedication. But we do not have to abandon them. This year's conference speakers are leaders in the art of combining historic building conservation with energy conservation, all eager to pass on their knowledge.
Join us on 24 November and go away at the end of the day able to maintain your principles while playing your part in the most important campaign in human history.
Speakers include:
Richard Oxley, Oxley Conservation
Peter Warm, Warm: Low Energy Building Practice
Jonathan Clarke, Energy Solutions (Thame) Ltd
