Have fun building sandcastles and win prizes at the RIBA's Sandcastles Challenge on West Wittering's Blue Flag beach on Saturday 17 August 2013.

Arm yourself with buckets and spades for a fun day on the beach at West Wittering on Saturday 17 August.

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) is running a Sandcastles Challenge and invites you, your family, friends or colleagues to take part.

Come along to the beach to register from 10.30am and start digging from 11.30am.

Whether you are a budding young sandcastle designer or someone with a little more experience and whether you form a team or fly solo, this will be your chance to show off your skills on the lovely Blue Flag beach.

Prize categories will include:

• Tallest Sand Structure
• Most Technically Daring
• The People’s Choice
• Overall Winner

Judging will start at 2.30pm.

Local radio station Spirit FM will broadcast from the beach from 10am with the winners announced live on air at 2pm.
