Renewable Energy Systems

22 October 2008

2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Venue:

Oxford

Description:

The renewable energy systems subject is very wide and technically complex.

Some concepts such as refrigerant thermodynamics, adiabatic heat transfer and solar photovoltaic technology could justify a seminar of their own.

The seminar will aim to:

  • confirm the importance of incorporating renewables into modern building designs
  • provide an overview and explanation of the characteristics of each renewable energy technology now available
  • consider their suitability
  • consider their capabilities
  • consider their limitations
  • and aim to 're-align' a few myths that some may hold.

The seminar will be split into two distinct halves:

  1. Those LZC / Renewable energy systems relating to Heat generation.
  2. Those LZC / Renewable energy systems related to Electricity generation.

Speaker: Tony Almond BSc IEng, Planet Energy Solutions
