DDA / Inclusive Access

29 April 2009

Venue:

Green Park, Reading

Description:

Design and Access Statements are now an important recommendation for applications seeking building regulations approval. This seminar will answer many questions on this topic, including:

  • What are Design and Access Statements, when should they be used, and what should they contain?
  • How can they be used in conjunction with guidance such as the Approved Document to Part M (2004) and BS8300 to achieve accessibility and inclusion for all users, whilst maximising the opportunities for creativity and design freedom?
  • What is the role of the client in providing an inclusive environment?
  • What role does a statement play in the management of an environment when in use?

This seminar will also feature a presentation by Terry Warren BA(Hons) NRAC (Cons.) of jhai ltd on issues related to accessibility and building regulations:

Lifetime Homes – Housing in an Ageing Society
Part M – DD266 – Lifetime Neighbourhoods
