2:00 PM - 4:30 PM
Venue:
Wolfson College, Oxford
Description:
Many forms of dampness and decay can affect buildings, but how can you identify the root cause and once established, do you always need to do something about it?
This seminar will address the myth that 'there's no such thing as rising damp', as well as discussing penetrating damp, condensation, below-ground waterproofing, fungal and insect decay. Methods of achieving sustainability through correct preservation and simple tips that could solve niggling problems with minimal outlay will also be covered.
