This half-day event will cover the recent developments in the Green Deal and ECO, including:

  • uptake and how people are taking it forward
  • Green Deal assessments
  • Green Deal installers and Green Deal providers, what their roles are and how could you assist them
  • How associations are taking forward the Green Deal and the energy company obligation
  • How you can gear up for the green deal and what it means for our homes.

Speaker: Andrew Eagles - Managing Director, Sustainable Homes

Andrew assists in managing the delivery of the Sustainable Homes Index For Tomorrow (SHIFT). SHIFT assesses the sustainability of local authorities and housing associations. Over one million homes are under membership. Andrew trained as an EcoHomes assessor, Code for Sustainable Homes assessor and SAP Assessor.

Andrew was Innovation and Development Manager at Housing Corporation which involved responsibility for the quality of affordable homes built in London (£1bill spend a year).

Andrew sat or is sitting on the following steering groups:

  • Senior Steering Group on the Code for Sustainable Homes which developed the Code technical guidance
  • Housing Corporation Gold Award champion on sustainability.
  • London Climate Change Partnership – group of including the GLA, Transport for London, Association of British Insurers, London Climate Change Agency

Andrew won the national social housing sustainability champion of the year award for 2010/11 and is lead author of 'Dealing Green' - The Green Deal guide for registered social landlords – August 2012.
