The Downland Prize has been awarded every year since 1998 to an architect based in RIBA South East or RIBA South regions, whose project with a total cost of £1million, best demonstrates the benefits of using an architect’s services.

The Downland Prize is sponsored by Ibstock Brick|. The award for the best individual house is sponsored by the Management Recruitment Group|; and the sustainability award, by the Rooflight Company|.

The winners of the Downland Prize 2008 will be announced on 13 October. An exhibition of winning and shortlisted buildings will tour during 2008/9; and is available for loan|.
