Planning - at the Heart of Place-shaping

05 November 2008

2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Venue:

Bath Racecourse

Description:

Planning can help to create pleasant, thriving places where people want to live and work in safe and good physical environments with a strong community sense of well-being. It must not be seen merely as a regulatory function - it is a positive activity which can facilitate the right development in the right locations to stimulate the economy, protect the environment and make lives better.

This event is designed to help you find out how local planning authorities are gearing up to be more pro-active in delivering a sustainable future - come along to hear this first hand from an officer on the front line of the planning system and also about how you can stay involved and up to date with planning processes to the benefit of your clients.

The seminar also offers an update on the practicalities of the fast changing planning system and other issues to be covered will include:

  • Pre-application discussions
  • Design statements
  • Consultation and design panels
  • What can be done to help the process run smoothly
  • How to meet the right officer
  • A Q & A session
