2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Venue:
Exeter Court Hotel, Exeter
Description:
Climate Change is the biggest environmental problem we face today – it is no longer possible to consider sustainable issues as ‘alternatives’ or ‘optional extras’, rather they are key to a sustainable approach to construction. This seminar is planned to highlight the implications of environmental issues on design and construction, keep you abreast of new developments and bring you up to date on legislation.
This afternoon will include:
-
The global picture – climate, energy, water and waste issues
-
Update on relevant legislation – UK, Europe and some worldwide issues
-
Life cycle analysis – from cradle to cradle
-
Minimising construction waste – from design through construction to demolition
-
Low carbon technologies – an update on available and planned solutions
-
Case studies – review and discuss the application and implication of sustainable construction techniques
