CDM 2007 - 18 Months on

The Revised Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM) 2007 came into force on the 6th April 2007. The regulations now incorporate the provision of both CDM and the Construction (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1996 in one set of regulations, with the purpose of:-

Making health and safety considerations integral to the management and delivery of construction projects' ensuring they are safe to build, use, maintain and eventually demolish.

The seminar will review the changes to CDM legislation and the Code of Practice, consider the duties of designers and review specific case studies from which experience of interpretation and application can be gained.

Speaker:

Paul Scudamore: a practicing CDM co-ordinator with 45 years experience in construction. He was originally on the contracting side of the industry moving from the role of site engineer to site agent, project manager and contracts manager. He then joined the B3 Architectural Practice for whom he still works and is involved in most aspects of their work but specialising in contract administration, expert witness forensic investigation of building failures and access consultancy. He rose to be a Director of B3 and then, for the maximum allowed term of 4 years, Chairman. He has now retired as a director but still works for the company as a CDM co-ordinator in their Safety and Access Division.
