Description:
This half day event will look at new and evolving aspects of Fire Safety and the effect that changes in regulation and new developments in Fire Engineering affect the design and management of buildings.
The session will include the following subject areas and a case study approach will be used in the presentation:

an overview of recent changes in fire legislation

basic fire engineering principles

a look at active and passive fire protection

fire safety strategies in buildings, their development and how they can be managed

fire service facilities

a look at the content of BS9999 and its use as a design tool

The seminar gives you three hours of general awareness and detailed knowledge CPD under the 'Health and Safety' and 'Construction Skills' sections of the RIBA Core Curriculum.
Speakers: James Brady and Keith Turner.
James and Keith are both Senior Fire Engineers at Trenton Consultants and between them they have academic and practical knowledge of all aspects of fire safety. Their experience includes fire risk assessments of a wide range of building types and forms of construction and the development and provision of specifications, advice and guidance for all aspects of fire safety in buildings.
