Description:
The Workshop is aimed at designers and design teams who are interested in improving the materials resource efficiency of their projects or are responding to requirements set by clients in the design brief for improved materials resource efficiency.
The workshop will:

Provide background to materials resource efficiency in construction including policy, environmental and business drivers

Explain key principles of design that help identify and implement waste reduction options at the design stages of construction projects

Provide practical case studies and tools (such as the Net Waste Tool and Site Waste Management Plans) for evaluating project options.
Opportunities are typically in: re-use of materials and components; use of offsite and modern methods; design for materials optimisation; procurement and delivery systems; and, design for deconstruction.
The workshop will include interactive sessions and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and will receive information on the range of tools and guidance available from WRAP.
