Although BIM is a much-talked about topic, and high on the government's agenda as the future model for construction practice from 2016 as outlined by its 2011 BIM strategy, there is equally as much confusion about its actual benefits, and its possible application and integration into existing practice.
Robert Jackson, Associate Architect and BIM Systems Manager at Bond Bryan, will deliver a seminar on BIM in practice, outlining its background and history, BIM standards and workflows, and will discuss project examples. Bond Bryan have been at the forefront of BIM practice for many years, which enables them to share their experience and knowledge with other professionals.
This event will include the following:
-
What BIM is, including its history and background
-
Why BIM is now being adopted, including the government perspective
-
The basics of BIM including terminology
-
BIM Standards, Protocols, Contracts, PII
-
Collaboration – both internally and externally
-
Templates and workflows
-
Real project examples
-
Demonstration of the software
