Offices of HCA, 5 St Phillip's Place, Birmingham
Description:
The RTPI and RIBA invite you to attend Design Quality in Neighbourhood Planning, a one off event including presentations by Colin Haylock, RTPI President, and Stephen Hodder, RIBA President Elect.
Localism presents many challenges and opportunities in achieving design quality. On the one hand it potentially raises the importance and knowledge of local distinctiveness but also has the potential to magnify local opinions and preferences about what constitutes 'good design'. The purpose of the event will be to explore those challenges and opportunities and to consider ways in which design quality can be achieved in neighbourhood planning. Other speakers include Tom Lonsdale (a respected CABE Designer) and Richard Guise (co-author of Shaping Neighbourhoods, 2010).
