Cross House Lodge has been refurbished to form eight bedroom accommodation for hire alongside one of the finest gastro pubs in Britain. Although the 'architecture' was purely to waterproof the shell and to make the building habitable the existing volumes were exploited and existing openings were retained wherever possible. 

The high quality of local craftsmanship shines out in this project. The judges felt that is was impossible to view the building without taking these aspects, in particular the metal work, staircases and joinery into account and as such, all deserve special mention in these awards. A variety of new and traditional materials have been used internally for structure and fittings giving a wonderfully eclectic and inviting feel to the premises.
