Arc was always intended to be a travelling building that would move to a variety of regeneration sites around Kingston-upon-Hull over several years. This building has the potential to create a remarkable impact to any site and connect visitors to the wider built environment with the many programmes and events it promotes.
As a form the building is an elegant structure that carries its massing with lightness and humour. The geometric architectural pattern, an extruded triangle formed by a lean-to roof propped up on a caravan frame makes a striking profile that raises a dull street corner into a focal point. An excellent example of successful design that emerged from a demanding client brief.
