Continuing Professional Development

From 2007 individual RIBA members have been required to attain half of their 35-hour yearly CPD quota from topics listed in the RIBA Core Curriculum|. Included in this they must undertake 2 hours of study on health and safety matters. RIBA Yorkshire's programme of CPD events provides core curriculum-based seminars to help you achieve this requirement.

CPD is about maintaining professionalism and competence and enhancing career development, business potential and a sense of personal satisfaction. CPD is for consumer protection and is also a way of ensuring that professionals keep up-to-date with their rapidly changing industry. CPD ought to enhance current and future development professionally, personally and business-wise.

RIBA Yorkshire is a member of the RIBA Northern Network CPD Club|, which helps members to meet their training requirements by providing a yearly structured programme of 11 seminars tailored to meet the needs of the architect and other construction professionals. In addition to the main programme, additional events will be organised in the Yorkshire region as important and relevant issues arise. The current RIBA members' annual season ticket subscription to the CPD Club equates to a fee of just £35 for each half-day seminar, giving exceptional value for money in the current training and development marketplace.

The sessions are still great value for money for RIBA members who choose not to join the CPD Club, at just £55 per event. All construction professionals are welcome to attend, with the fee for non-RIBA members being £75 per event.
