Denis Mason Jones was a distinguished Leeds architect. Throughout his adult life Denis kept meticulous notebooks, filled with sketches of buildings, family activities, holidays, cartoons and stories for his four children, all in his very distinctive style.
To commemorate Denis’s contribution to the art of freehand sketching of architecture, West Yorkshire Society of Architects, with support from RIBA Yorkshire have set up an annual Award that invites architects and students of architecture to pick up their pencils and sketch pads and sketch buildings in Yorkshire.
One award of £200 will be presented to an architect from the region, and four awards of £200 will be presented to students from the four schools of architecture.
