21 March 2013
2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Venue:
The Orangery, Back Lane, Wakefield WF1 2TG
Description:
The computer-based RIBA Fees Calculator|, exclusively available to RIBA Chartered Members, is designed to assist the smaller practice in preparing fee proposals that help their client better to understand the process and professionalism involved in the architects' service.
For many years many architects relied on showing their clients a standard RIBA fee scale graph to demonstrate the legitimacy of their percentage fee proposals. Introduced in the 1970s, these do not represent or convey the range and complexity of the present-day architect's services.
The RIBA Fees Calculator aims to ensure that architects charge appropriately for their services and are able properly to serve their clients' needs. This has been developed by the RIBA in consultation with the RIBA Small Practice group, as a beta version using MS Excel software.
At the workshop, Stephen Davy, architect, will detail all the benefits of the RIBA Fees Calculator, explain why it was introduced and more importantly tell you how to use it to optimise your practice earnings. He will show you how you can use the calculator to help to clearly demonstrate your value to your clients. We will work through a practical example, so we recommend that you bring a laptop with you to the seminar.
