Understanding Education Funding Agency Baseline Design Standards and how they affect the design of future schools

14 May 2013

9:00 AM - 10:45 AM

Integreat Plus, 71-75 Columbia Place, Leadmill Road, Sheffield

Cundall have recently delivered the engineering for the Education Funding Agency’s (EFA) baseline designs through their multi-disciplinary team.

The key objective of the EFA baseline design standards was to deliver a better education environment within tight cost constraints for the purposes of the Priority Schools Building Programme. In these financially challenging times, the new cost plan requires schools to cut construction cost by nearly a third compared with the Building Schools for the Future programme and meet lower energy and carbon emission targets.

You are invited to a breakfast seminar, which will summarise these new performance guides and design solutions with a focus on:

  • Daylighting
  • Acoustics
  • Thermal, Ventilation and Comfort
  • Fire Safety
  • Structures

Speakers: Alan Fogarty, Director at Cundall; Andrew Bissell, Director Light4

Who should attend: Architects, Contractors, Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Education Providers

Why attend: To understand the thinking behind the new output specifications and the altered environmental standards. Specialists will look in detail at the technical aspects of the designs.
