Design intent to reality closing the building performance gap - Leeds

02 April 2014

2:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Venue:

Humanities Building, Broadcasting Place, Leeds Metropolitan University, Woodhouse Lane, Leeds, LS2 9EN

Description:

This presentation will explore how a building is commissioned, designed, operated and experienced by its occupants and ultimately will outline actions for securing better building performance in reality - for the client, its occupants and in terms of energy performance. The speaker will look at the role of the Soft Landings Framework for achieving better briefing, design, handover and building performance in use, and also cover approaches to conducting building performance evaluation, monitoring and feedback. Finally, this session will consider the concept of 'new professionalism' and what all this really means for architects.
