We are the champion for architecture and for a better environment. Working with the Welsh Government, the Design Commission for Wales and the 22 unitary authorities, we ensure that good design remains on the agenda for everyone on every day.

Led by our elected honorary officers, our priorities for the year are set by the RSAW Council of members.

Local activities in Wales are co-ordinated by four branches, while all-Wales activities are administered by a small team of full-time staff based in Cardiff.

The activities of the RSAW include:

  • liaison with the Welsh Government, local authorities, public agencies and the voluntary sector
  • the Clients Service (free information to the public on selecting and working with architects)
  • annual RIBA Awards programme in Wales
  • annual Spring School, held in the spring, and the annual conference, held in the autumn
  • Continuing Professional Development (CPD) - delivered through the RSAW office and local branches
  • publication of Touchstone - the magazine for architecture in Wales.
