Call for entries for RIBA Awards 2010 - closing date 19 February 2010
The RIBA and RSAW is once again on the lookout for potential RIBA Stirling Prize winners and Lubetkin prize winners. Following on from the success of Maggies Centre, in London by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners in October and The National Stadium, in Beijing by Herzog de Meuron, the search has begun to find the best examples of new British architecture in and outside of the UK. Practices up and down the country and from all over the world are urged to submit projects of architectural excellence to the 2010 RIBA Awards|.
The awards are annual, and have been running continuously since 1966. Buildings are judged in the first instance by shortlisting panels in each region, who visit schemes individually and meet to produce a list of buildings to be visited by the region's jury. Each regional jury is made up of a regional representative, a lay assessor from various disciplines and the jury chair, who is a nationally renowned architect and chairs the shortlisting panel. They visit the shortlisted projects, talking to clients and users and assessing design excellence irrespective of style, size or complexity. The jury changes every year. This year's entry form can be downloaded here|.
