This workshop explains how the Code works and is assessed, and how design affects the achievement of the standard. It primarily focuses on how architects can meet the requirement to improve the housing performance above Part L. The speaker also provides examples and guidance on methodologies that designers can use to deliver low energy houses covering issues such as air tightness, thermal bridging and U values.
Speaker: Nick Tune of BRE. The BRE in Wales, set up by Nick in 2005, has developed a close working relationship with all key main construction bodies in Wales including the Welsh Assembly Government, Constructing Excellence and the Housing Associations.
