Launch of RIBA Housing initiative
Wednesday 14 September 2011 sees the launch of a major new housing initiative by the RIBA, including a new report.
Britain faces a housing crisis - there is a shortage of homes and not enough are being built. But in the rush to build quickly and cheaply do we risk storing up unnecessary problems for the future? Do we know what people living in the 21st Century want and need from their homes? What changes might be needed to make sure the new homes being built meet consumer demands? These are just some of the questions asked at this special event.
RIBA Housing Conference: Creating designs for life
Housing policy affects us all, but architects play a singular role in delivering quality, creativity and sustainability in the housing sector. This conference draws together new opinion, research and policy to consider emerging themes in a changing marketplace.
