Angela is director of Brady Mallalieu Architects, an award-winning private practice which specialises in contemporary sustainable housing and commercial projects.
Angela was a founder member of the RIBA’s ‘Architects for Change’ group promoting women and BAME architects to further diversity within the profession. She chaired Women in Architecture for five years and with colleagues created the ‘DiverseCity’ travelling exhibition in 2003, exhibited in dozens of cities around the world and culminating in an international conference at the RIBA during 17-19 October 2010.
With a passion for architecture in the classroom, Angela has run many inspiring workshops and initiatives with the RIBA, Open City and the Building Exploratory Hackney where she was a trustee director for 10 years. She is a STEMnet Ambassador, a Government Equality Ambassador, vice chair of Civic Trust Awards and has sat on many other design panels. In 2010 she became the RIBA's President Elect, and will serve as President in 2011-2013.
Angela is well known for her TV work such as ‘The Home Show’ on Channel 4 and 'Building the Dream' on ITV, bringing an appreciation of architecture and design to the public.
