Before placing an order with a licensed manufacturer you may wish to be aware of the approved layout and text.
 
The board is available in a range of four sizes and is printed all over in red. A horizontal line appears beneath the top line of text. The RIBA badge and all lettering (which must be in upper and lower case) are printed in white. The typeface is Unica.

The words appearing above the top horizontal line should be:
 
1. 'RIBA Chartered Practice'
Note: only available to registered RIBA Chartered Practices.
 
2. 'RIBA Chartered Architect(s)' or…

4. 'RIBA Project Manager(s)'
 
The practice or office name should appear in the board's central section, to the right of the current RIBA badge: no more than three lines are allowed.

For guidance on the use of business names, please refer to relevant section within 'Guidance Note 3 - Advertising'

 
If wished, and subject to fitting in Line 3, additional descriptive words describing the services provided could be added, for instance: 'Architecture Surveying Planning Engineering'. Sole practitioners may use professional affixes (in addition to RIBA) such as RICS, MICE, RTPI etc (but not educational or degree qualifications).
 
At the foot of the board should appear a single line of brief contact details - subject to available space, any of postal/telephone/fax/email/website details may appear.
 
Use of RIBA boards is restricted to firms where at least one partner or director is an RIBA member (or local authority architects' departments headed by a RIBA member). 'RIBA Chartered Practice' boards can only be used by registered chartered practices. Manufacturers may require RIBA members (partner or director) to sign a declaration confirming relevant status.
 
No office or company logos are permitted.
