Practice

Small Practice Group

The Small Practice Group represents the two thirds of RIBA members in practices of fewer than ten staff, and works with representatives of government and our fellow institutes to make the voice of the smaller practice heard.
 
Its objectives are to:
  • enable small practices to compete effectively in a changing procurement arena (influencing decision makers, information and services to members)
  • ensure effective two-way communication between practices and the RIBA (e.g. by obtaining feedback from practices)
  • tackle perceptions and educate clients (promote the advantages of using small practices)
  • encourage/promote liaison between practices (i.e. small/small and small/large)
  • liaise with the small business field (i.e. outside architecture)
  • develop business and general practice skills and specialisms for architects

 

Conference 2008

'Guerrilla Tactics: secret manoeuvres for business success' was the theme of this year's small practice conference, held at the RIBA on 15 October. A transcript of the conference proceedings is attached as a PDF in the Links and Resources section below.

Procurement Seminar
