Nick Pearce is Head of the No10 Policy Unit.
Prior to joining No10, Nick was Director of Britain’s leading think-tank, the Institute for Public Policy Research (ippr). At ippr he wrote widely on issues ranging from social justice and community cohesion, to education policy and South American politics. His co-authored and edited books include Politics for a New Generation (2007) Freedom’s Orphans (2006), Social Justice: Building a Fairer Britain (2005) Tomorrow’s Citizens (1999) and Wasted Youth (1998). Nick has been a regular commentator on public policy issues in the broadcast and print media.
Prior to leading ippr, Nick was a Special Adviser in the Home Office, the Department for Education and Skills and the Cabinet Office. In 2006, he served on both the Teaching & Learning 2020 Review and the Equalities Review Panel.
He is currently Chair of the Advisory Board for the Foresight, a member of the UK-India Roundtable, and a board member of the Royal Institute of British Architects Trust.
Nick is married with one son and lives in South London.
